Fractal Tutorial - Working with color page 6

Now you should have the Fractal Parameters window open and on the right you can see Filter Parameters. Under this are two boxes called Bay Factor 1 & Bay Factor 2. These affect the way the color is used by the filters. Don't ask me how, I don't know, just take my word for it! ;-)

On some images, depending on the filters used, either one or the other or both may change the image. On some only one of these Bay Factors will have an effect. For now change Bay Factor 1, adding a 2 in the box.

But don't forget to experiment with this in the future!

Before going further, select "None" from the Color-1 menu. Even though the RGB values in the Color Control window are the same I have changed the Starting values so go ahead and change those to match.

In this image note that I have changed the Green value from 9 to 8 as well AND the Starting values. This has "blocked out" the red in the background in the previous image and makes the image to have more of an illusion of "floating".

You should now see the tremendous amount of experimenting that can be done with just one fractal! Just changing these RGB variables in the Color Controls offer a "ton" of combinations let alone changing any basic RGB values, Bay Factors, filters or Color-1 & Color-2 menu options!
