Fractal Tutorial - Continuing With Fractal Parameters

Fractal ImageLet's continue to look at some of the other fractal parameter fields that we can change within the program.

Step 1

Fractal Image1) We touched on using filters before, let's make another change to that variable. Select Filter #37, Hi/Lo Stalks FDimension II from the Filters 3 main menu at the top.

Step 2

Fractal Image2) Note how this not only changed the "look" of the fractal, but also drastically changed the color. Don't forget, you still have all the color filters, color controls etc. that also will change this image if you wish!

Step 3

Fractal Image3) Another factor that affects color, besides the color choices, M-set Max, and filters, are additional Parameter settings. Open up the Parameters again and change the Bay Factor 2 setting to 4.

Step 4

Fractal Image4) As you can see, this again made substantial changes to the fractal. Changing the Bay Factor 1 parameter will result in even more changes! Try experimenting with different numbers in these two fields to see how these changes affect the look and color scheme of the fractal image.

Step 5

Fractal Image4) Let's look at another variable, Stalks & Bubbles in the Parameter window. Change this setting to 20.08 and observe the results. Now select the FD-Options menu and select #8. Then select Method 0 (None) from The Color-1 menu.

Step 6

Fractal Image4) As you can see from just the three fractals on this page how dramatically different they look from each other. This would be a good time to revisit some of the earlier changes we have made! Let's move on to page 8.
