Here are a few more misc. program tips and features that you can play with! There are a number of images on this page so it may be a little slower to load than the other pages. Be patient it won't take THAT long and there are some nice features demonstrated! For more tips and how to save your fractal images go to the next page.

If you would like to keep an image as is but wish to make changes to it, you can! Before changing any parameters, depress the "new view on zoom" button (see example) and the fractal image is generated in a new window while keeping your original image unchanged. |

You not only have a variety of color filters and color parameters available on your "color control" window but you can also "swap" RGB values. RGB stands for "red, green, blue" and a combination of these colors are assigned to the image based on the parameters you input. (What you see is what you get!) Under the color button on the toolbar you can swap the values. In other words, if you selected "BGR" it would replace blue for red, green would stay the same and red would replace blue in the image. Get it?! You can then continue to alter the color with filters, bay factors and color controls which were discussed earlier in the tutorial.

While we are on the topic of color, here is another nice feature. If you find a cool combination of color (color map) that you like, you can save it to try on any image! Just select "save colors" (see example) and name the file whatever you wish. It will be saved as a (.*clr) file. Whenever you create an image that you would like to try that color map on, just select "load colors" from file menu, select the map you saved and voila'! Here is an image of what the file looks like: |
