Since 1998 Amazing Seattle Fractals has provided extensive information about the art form of fractals. You will find fractal art galleries, fractal tutorials, fractal software programs, and other resources, all intended to help you enjoy, and explore, this amazing art form.
What is a fractal? Fractals are a unique, digital art form, created from mathematical formulas using computer software. These mathematical formulas are generated in a fractal software program and result in graphical representations, or images, of an astounding diversity of form, detail, color and light. I believe you will agree as you view this contemporary digital art form, that these images truly are amazing! For additional info on what fractals are, click Here
There are many excellent fractal resources available on the internet, including this one! ;-) On the fractal resources page I have listed a number of links to what I consider interesting and useful fractal websites.
These fractal resources include other tutorials, educational information, and interesting sites about different aspects of what fractals are, their implications in science etc. These range from the novice to the technical, and you should be able to find fractal sites of interest no matter your level of understanding, or interest in, this amazing discovery.
I have added the first fractal art gallery for 2012 with 21 new creations that I hope you enjoy! I will be adding new content as time allows.
I was recently honored to be one of four fractal artists worldwide that was invited to have their art displayed on IBM's 100th anniversary website, celebrating the discovery of fractals by Benoit Mandelbrot while he was working for IBM. IBM is celebrating their 100th anniversary by highlighting 100 IBM innovations that have helped shape the last century, with fractals being one of those important discoveries. If you would like to see this very interesting "Icon of Progress", click here! (My art is displayed on a slide show on the "Cultural Impacts" page of this series!)
Be sure to check out several excellent fractal videos all about fractals that are on the Fractal Movie page. These fractal movies series are amazing, and will help explain what fractals are, the scientific & cultural implications their discovery has had, and will ultimately change the way you see fractals and the world around us!
